CARE INSTRUCTIONS

• The products mentioned in this category are meant for coarse pounding of raw spices or herbs, chutneys and powders. 
• Avoid pounding of very hard ingredients.
• Any kind of hard/harsh grinding might lead to cracks and breakage of the product, since these are natural stones. 
• Also they might tend to crack/break when dropped or with improper care.
• A prerequisite cleaning with rice flour and salt (in equal ratio) in the following manner is recommended as soon as you purchase this product. Just add 2 TBSP of the mixture, pound with pestle so as to to cover the inner surface and discard. Repeat this twice. Use warm water for cleaning to get rid the natural fine dust.
• A medium to soft scrubber (preferably coconut) can be used. Avoid heavy duty scrubber.
• Use natural cleaning powders such as milled rice flour,  chickpea flour (besan), soap nut powder (only in mild ratio), tamarind or lime.
• Avoid using detergents for cleaning, as these chemicals will get settled and leach thereafter into the food.
